Swindon Carers Centre are creating our very own ‘Friends of Swindon Carers Centre’. It is a small friendly group of ‘Swindon Carers Centre Ambassadors’. Their role is to help spread awareness of carers and how Swindon Carers Centre can support carers with their caring role. They also assist our fundraising team in generating funds to enable the Centre to continue the range of support it offers.

The group are busy planning their first ever event, ‘Afternoon Tea with Friends of Swindon Carers Centre’, which is taking place on Monday 14th May. They are inviting the general public to join them to celebrate the role of unpaid carers. There will be three venues across Swindon; Sanford House, Justin Tomlinson MP’s Community Office and ASDA West Swindon from 2-4pm with donations for Swindon Carers Centre welcomed.

A ‘Friend’ of Swindon Carers Centre has an interest and understanding of unpaid carers and the issues they may experience, believes in our vision of creating a community where carers are recognised, valued and supported and is committed to making a difference and raising awareness of carers.

The ‘Afternoon Tea with Friends of Swindon Carers Centre’ is an open event and everybody is welcome to attend. For further information about the event, please contact Becky Gammon, Groups and Activities Co-ordinator on 01793 401095.
