Swindon Carers Centre is asking you to ‘Walk a Mile in a Carer’s Shoes’ during Carers Week to raise awareness of the 21,000 unpaid carers in Swindon, highlight the challenges they often face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities across Swindon.
Our annual ‘Walk a Mile in a Carer’s Shoes’ event is taking place on Saturday 9th June to kick start Carers Week 2018, which runs from 11th-17th June. The route will take us through Swindon town centre.
The walk is open to anybody who would like to join us to raise awareness of carers. If walkers would like, they can get their family and friends to sponsor them to complete the mile walk. Money raised will help us support carers of all ages and provide them with respite activities throughout the year.
After the walk there will be refreshments at Artsite. Thanks to Artsite, we will also have a raffle, an art exhibition produced by carers and activities to keep you entertained.
