Carers Week

There are at least 21,000 unpaid carers in Swindon, who save our town economy £395 million per year.   They play a vital role looking after children, parents, partners and friends.  That’s why every year, we celebrate Carers Week – an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlighting the challenges unpaid carers face and recognising the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.  At Swindon Carers Centre, we currently support 4000 carers between the ages of 5 and 98.

8th – 14th June 2020

This year’s theme is ‘Making Caring Visible’. In the current lockdown, many people are taking on more caring responsibilities for their relatives and friends – which is why this year’s Carers Week (8-14 June)  is more important than ever.

Although we can’t gather together as we usually would, we’ve planned a week of activities to raise awareness (which you can join in with at home) ending with our annual ‘Walk A Mile’ with a difference.
