Unpaid carers play a crucial role in meeting the needs of some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. Swindon Carers Centre helps people to access the support they are entitled to as a carer so that they can look after their own wellbeing, living a healthy, fulfilling life alongside their caring role.

You may be looking after someone, but who is looking after you? Our carers share their stories.
“It’s lovely that you can speak to someone who knows what you’re going through, because sometimes people don’t understand what carers do. Just a Zoom meeting for an hour a week and a change of scenery, it’s a way of breaking up the day.”
“I have found comfort in phone calls from friends and Swindon Carers Centre. I have gone back to singing with the carers on Zoom, it is lovely to see everyone again and share a song and a laugh.”

What our carers say
Swindon Carers Centre has been extremely supportive. Staff have gone the extra mile to get me through this period. Somehow they always manage to make everyone feel special and put a smile on my face even in a crisis.
All the information was very helpful indeed. You helped me to clarify the maze of support there is out there. I am definitely more confident about knowing what I/we need. I am so grateful to you for your help, it was really professional, supportive and caring.
It took a lot for me to even consider talking to the team, but I am so glad I did. The team have listened to me and have been very kind and understanding. Now I know that I am not the only young person going through this.
Seeing him with a smile again has made me cry. He has had an amazing time and said it was nice to be a normal kid, to have fun without worrying about me or his brother. The joy and happiness you share with kids is absolutely awesome.
