Swindon Carers Centre wins Charity of the Year 2022

Swindon Carers Centre had a brilliant night at the Wiltshire Life Awards, winning our category to become Charity of the Year 2022.

The Wiltshire Life Awards, organised by Wiltshire’s leading county magazine Wiltshire Life, are always highly competitive with many brilliant finalists.

We are thrilled to have been chosen for this award, and also to see our Volunteer Steve take a fabulous second place in the Local Hero of the Year category. This reflects all the hard work he does not just with Swindon Carers Centre, but with other charity and community groups too.

Judges for the Wiltshire Life Awards recognised the team’s hard work responding to an increasingly high number of referrals and calls from carers of all ages.

Our entry also highlighted the varied programme of activities and training sessions we offer carers, giving people an opportunity for time out, peer support and friendship.

Swindon Carers Centre has a vision to create a community where carers are recognised, valued and supported. We continue to advocate for carers, through collaborative work with organisations such as Swindon Borough Council, NHS England, and Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire CCG.

This is fantastic recognition of the fact that support for unpaid carers is vital. We’re very proud of the whole team at Swindon Carers Centre for all their continued hard work and dedication.
