Carers Week is a vital annual campaign that shines a light on the incredible contributions of unpaid carers across the UK. This year’s theme, ‘Caring About Equality’, focused on highlighting the inequalities many carers face — from financial hardship and social isolation to challenges with their mental and physical health.
To celebrate and support carers in our community, we hosted a series of events throughout the week aimed at raising awareness, offering support, and providing a well-earned break for those who give so much to others.
Here’s what we got up to during Carers Week 2025:
- Information Stalls at TESCO and the Great Western Hospital
Our team of practitioners were on hand at both locations to speak to the public, provide information about available support, and connect with carers who may not yet know about the help that’s out there. - Walk and Talk Event
A chance for carers to get outdoors, enjoy some fresh air, and connect with others in a relaxed, supportive environment. - Coach Trip to the Beach
We organised a fun and relaxing coach trip to the coast — giving carers a day to unwind, enjoy the sea breeze, and take a well-deserved break. - Afternoon Tea
A highlight of the week! We wrapped up the week with a lovely afternoon tea, giving carers the chance to socialise and enjoy some music from a local ukulele band. Check out our social media for some more snaps!
Carers are the backbone of our communities, and Carers Week is a powerful reminder of the need to support and recognise their contributions. We’d like to thank everyone who took part, supported our events, and most importantly — all the carers who continue to make a difference every single day.
Let’s continue to raise awareness, push for change, and ensure unpaid carers are given the recognition and support they truly deserve.
