Our support reaches far beyond our organisation, spreading across the local community. Since 1997, Swindon Carers Centre has built a strong network of people and resources dedicated to supporting unpaid carers.

Flu jabs for carers: If you are a carer, you are eligible for the flu vaccine for FREE.
Swindon Mind: Provides advice, support and services to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem in Swindon.
NHS Continuing Healthcare: NHS Continuing Healthcare (NHS CHC) is a package of care for adults aged 18 or over which is arranged and funded solely by the NHS.
Swindon Borough Council Adult Social Care and Support: Information and advice about care and support.
NHS Care and Support: A guide for people who have care and support needs, their carers and people who are planning for their future care needs.
The NHS Long-term Plan – commitments to unpaid carers: Information on ongoing work to improve the identification and support of carers.
The Wiltshire Bobby Van Trust (WBVT): Works in partnership with the Wiltshire Police to provide a home security service and online safety service for over 60s, 18+ with a registered disability and victims of domestic abuse throughout Wiltshire and Swindon.

Carer passport: A Carer Passport is essentially a record which identifies an unpaid carer in some way and leads to the provision of support, services or other benefits in response.
Welfare rights: National website for Welfare Rights and Benefits Advice.
Citizens Advice Swindon: Provides free, confidential and impartial advice and campaign on big issues affecting people’s lives.
Wiltshire Law Centre: Provides free confidential advice on welfare benefits, employment, housing and debt.

Independent Age: Helpline for older people.
The Silver Line: Operates the only confidential, free helpline for older people across the UK that’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The specially trained helpline team offer information, friendship and advice. They can also link callers to local groups and services, as well as protect and support older people who are suffering abuse and neglect.
Age UK: Is the country’s largest charity dedicated to helping everyone make the most of later life.
Alzheimer’s Society: Provides support to people affected by dementia, funds research into the causes and cures for all types of dementia, and campaigns to raise awareness and improve experiences for those affected.

Carers Trust: Carers Trust is a major charity for, with and about carers. Swindon Carers Centre is our network Partner.
Carers UK  –  ‘the voice of carers’: Advice and information about financial support, relationships, health and practical support.
The Digital Resource for Carers: Information about an online platform that hosts a wealth of resources for carers to help you build resilience in your caring role.
Guide for health professionals: Guidance explaining how the Digital Resource for Carers works, as well as tips on how to refer people for support.
HealthWatch Swindon: Gives people a powerful voice to help influence the delivery and design of local health services.
Bath and North East Somerset Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board: For people with a learning disability, you can request to be on the learning disability register at your GP surgery for an annual health check. Click here for a form you can download and fill in.
